Will the dream of a world in peace ever become a reality? For the past few days I have had a feeling of inner sadness, a heaviness in my heart, anger and fear for what is being rumoured to be coming. With the bombings in Paris and talk all centred around the imminent onset of WWIII.

The though of any war let alone entering into a third world war is enough to make me want to cry as I just do not understand or see any reason for military action of any sort to overpower another country and nation. This is not ever an answer or a solution to world problems, but what upsets me even more, is that the threat of war moves us further away from the dream of a world in peace.

Will there ever be a time in human existence where weapons of war and destruction will be a distant and forgotten memory of human life, but equally can we be doing more to stop this?

I don’t profess for one minute to fully understand the reasons for why this war against Islamic states is looming even closer and neither do I fully understand the politics of this country (UK), as politics is something that has never really interested me because I think it is a corrupt, self-fulfilling, out of touch, draconian system that only serves the interests of governments and not the interests of the masses.

That said, I do now think my disinterest was a big mistake and I should have paid more attention even though it’s no secret that the UK and US governments are corrupt and it’s generally agreed upon quite vocally that politicians are on the whole a bunch of meandering liars.

But with all this talk of a possible WWIII, I am remaining positive and optimistic that it can be avoided. To express my optimism, I would like to share the sentiments of some of the worlds greatest world leaders and philosophers who also believed war is never an answer.

War is only a cowardly escape from the problems of peace.

THOMAS MANN

Wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows.

MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr

The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.

GEN. NORMAN SCHWARZKOPF

Wars can be prevented just as surely as they can be provoked, and we who fail to prevent them, must share the guilt for the dead.

OMAR N BRADLEY

I’m fed up to the ears with old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in.

GEORGE McGOVERN

Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY

Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.

JOHN F. KENNEDY

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.

SUN TZU

What a cruel thing war is… to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbours.

ROBERT E. LEE

I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity.

DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation. War is hell.

WILLIAM TECUMSEH SHERMAN

If we stand any chance of avoiding a new war then the people of this country are going to have to take your power back and do it without the need to ask for permission.

We all know that main stream media blackout world reality. It is also a proven fact that like politicians, media also likes to spread lies to drive and push us into wars, this is how they have kept us divided and distracted and have allowed the to conquer us.

But one thing we can all start doing, is instead of focusing on our differences, we need to focus on what we all have in common and start seeing the world and other as equals.
